Video Preview Tester

Paste a supported video URL, choose how many independent preview instances you need, then open them to review playback behaviour. Preview windows are opened only after you press the button below.

YouTube, Vimeo, or a direct MP4, WebM, OGG or M4V file. Only http:// and https:// addresses are accepted.

Maximum 100 instances per session.

Playback Options
Playback behaviour

On by default. While autoplay is on, every preview starts muted and begins playing on its own, because all browsers block autoplay with sound. Unmute from the player's own controls.

Applied automatically whenever autoplay is on.

Timing and audio

50%

Volume applies to direct video files. Embedded players keep their own volume control.

Start timing

Each instance starts after its own random gap, so they never all begin at the same moment. Recommended for large instance counts.

How It Works

Three steps, no account and no installation. Everything runs in the browser tab you already have open.

  1. 01

    Paste Video URL

Enter a supported video URL: a YouTube or Vimeo link, or a direct video file address that ends in .mp4, .webm or .ogg.

  2. 02

    Choose Instances

Select how many preview instances you want to test, from 1 to 100. Each instance is independent, and start times are spread out with random gaps so they do not all play at once.

  3. 03

    Start Testing

Press Open Preview Instances to launch the windows, or use In-Page Preview Mode to render the players inside this page instead.

Browser popup and autoplay policies may affect the result. A browser can refuse extra windows, and most browsers will not start playback with sound until the visitor interacts with the page. This tool reports what it can observe and never reports playback status it cannot verify.

Supported Video Types

The tester recognises YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, TikTok and direct media addresses, and treats everything else as a best-effort embed.

YouTube

Watch, share, Shorts, live and embed links are recognised.

youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID
youtu.be/VIDEO_ID
youtube.com/shorts/VIDEO_ID

Vimeo

Standard video pages and player links are recognised.

vimeo.com/VIDEO_ID
player.vimeo.com/video/VIDEO_ID

Facebook

Video posts, watch links, reels and short fb.watch links are embedded through the official Facebook video plugin.

facebook.com/watch/?v=ID
facebook.com/<page>/videos/ID
fb.watch/CODE

TikTok

Standard post links are embedded through the official TikTok player.

tiktok.com/@user/video/ID
tiktok.com/v/ID

Direct video files

Files the browser can play natively are loaded into a standard HTML5 player with full playback events.

https://example.com/clip.mp4
https://example.com/clip.webm
https://example.com/clip.ogg

Other embeddable pages

Any other http:// or https:// address is attempted as an embed. Most sites outside YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook and TikTok block framing, and that restriction is respected rather than worked around.

Some videos cannot be embedded because the owner or the provider has disabled embedding. This tool does not bypass X-Frame-Options, Content Security Policy, DRM, sign-in walls or regional restrictions. When a provider refuses an embed, the tester tells you instead of failing silently.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many video previews can I open?

The tool supports up to 100 instances per session. The actual number your browser can open may be lower because of browser resource and popup restrictions, and preview windows are far more likely to be blocked than in-page previews.

Why didn't all preview windows open?

Your browser may have blocked some popups. Allow popups for this website and click Try Again. Switching to in-page preview mode always works, because it creates the players inside this page instead of opening new windows.

Can every YouTube, Facebook or TikTok video be embedded?

No. Some videos or providers may restrict embedding. Some YouTube videos disable embedding, private or audience-limited Facebook videos will not load in the plugin, and TikTok can only embed a full post address, never a vm.tiktok.com short link.

Can this tool increase video views?

No. The tool is designed for browser and playback testing and does not provide mechanisms for manipulating platform metrics. It works in one browser profile on one machine, and it never reports fake playback.

Does autoplay always work?

No. Modern browsers can restrict autoplay, especially when audio is enabled. Turning on Start muted gives the best chance of automatic playback, and you can always press play in the player.

Does the website upload my video?

No. The application is entirely client side: it only asks your browser to request the URL you supplied. The video itself is never uploaded and the URL is never stored on a server by this application.

Why do embedded players show fewer controls?

YouTube and Vimeo players run on their own domains, so the tester cannot read their play, pause or volume state, and it does not pretend to. Direct video files behave differently: those players are created locally, so playback events are read directly from the media element.

About Video Preview Lab

Video Preview Lab is a small, browser-based testing utility for people who need to check how the same video source behaves in more than one player at once. It is useful for QA passes on an embedded player, checking that a direct file streams correctly, checking how a player copes with a start time or a loop setting, and preparing demos where several instances of a clip need to be visible side by side.

It is deliberately narrow in scope. It opens preview instances, renders players, and reports what it can actually observe. It contains no automation, no scheduling, no background viewing and no metric manipulation, and it does not attempt to work around restrictions set by a browser or a video provider.

Privacy

Everything in this tool runs client side. The URL you paste, the instance count and the playback options stay in your browser tab and are passed to the preview instances you open. This application does not send them to a server, does not write them to a database and does not include tracking scripts. The only network requests made are the ones your browser needs to load the video you asked for.
